Chinese world champion Xiong Jing Nan is excited to face one of ONE Championship’s biggest stars at ONE: HEART OF THE LION, but says she won’t be letting Angela Lee walk away from Singapore with her world title.

Xiong, who captured the ONE Strawweight World Title with a blistering performance to finish Singapore’s Tiffany Teo in January, has since cemented her status as the premier female strawweight athlete in ONE with a pair of dominant title defences.

First, she defeated Argentinian grappler Laura Balin by unanimous decision at ONE: PINNACLE OF POWER in June, then she finished Brazilian challenger Samara Santos via third-round KO at ONE: BEYOND THE HORIZON in Shanghai in September.

Now, following a comprehensive training camp at Indonesian gym Bali MMA, Xiong is ready for the biggest bout of her career as she takes on ONE Atomweight World Champion Lee in a champion versus champion bout for the strawweight title.

“This title around my waist represents all the hard work I have put into my craft since the very beginning of my career,” she told media on a ONE Championship conference call on Wednesday night.

“I have been practicing martial arts since I was a child. It is my passion, my livelihood, and my life. I will do everything in my power to keep the belt.

“Angela is a tremendous fighter and champion, and I respect her as a martial artist. But this is my division and my belt, I will never give it up without a fight.

“On 9 November, the world will witness history, but I will leave the arena still champion.”

Xiong takes on Lee in the main event of ONE: HEART OF THE LION at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Friday November 9. The event is available to watch live and for free via the ONE Championship Super App.
