ONE Championship has made another big-name signing, this time to its executive team.

Former Strikeforce and UFC women’s bantamweight world champion and women’s MMA legend Miesha Tate is joining ONE as their new Vice President, and will relocate to Singapore to take up her role in the New Year.

The 32-year-old has accomplished almost everything in the sport of mixed martial arts, and following her retirement, she has remained a hugely popular figure within the martial arts world, working as a pundit and a commentator while also adapting to life as a new mother.

Now Tate is ready to start a brand new chapter in her career as a key figurehead in ONE Championship’s continued expansion, and has agreed to not only join as a Vice President, but also to relocate her family to Singapore to become an integral part of ONE’s executive team.

“I am thrilled to join ONE Championship as a Vice President,” Tate said.

“I truly believe in its mission of unleashing real-life superheroes who ignite the world with hope, strength, dreams, and inspiration.

“I’m honoured to bring my experience as a world champion and to help inspire the next generation of athletes. And of course, I am excited to relocate to my new home, Singapore, and travel throughout Asia!”

Tate started her mixed martial arts career back in 2007 and became one of the biggest stars in women’s MMA history as she captured world titles in both Strikeforce (in 2011) and the UFC (in 2016). She retired from the sport as a legend in November 2016.

Known to her legion of fans as “Cupcake”, Tate’s all-action style and fan-friendly persona made her a huge hit with fans across the world, and now she joins fellow former UFC stablemates Demetrious Johnson and Eddie Alvarez as one of the new members of the expanding ONE Championship family.

Now, Tate joins former martial arts athletes Rich Franklin, Bashir Ahmad and Ann Osman on ONE’s executive team.
