This week has been crazy for us here at The Brit Pack, with both of us still reeling from the news of the impending disaster of “The Super League” in European football. But, thankfully, while the footballing world is in meltdown, the world of combat sports is in rude good health.
On this week’s show, we take a quick look back at Bellator 257 and UFC on ESPN 22 before discussing the most talked-about combat sports event of the past weekend, the Triller Fight Club event headlined by Jake Paul, who TKO’d Ben Askren in the night’s main event.
That clears the way for our preview of UFC 261, where we discuss the three big title fights on the card, as Valentina Shevchenko puts her flyweight title on the line against Jessica Andrade, and Zhang Weili looks to defend her strawweight title against former champ Rose Namajunas. They provide the warm-up to the main event, as Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal face off in a welterweight title rematch.
