Rebooting for 2022: New year, new gigs

Following a difficult start to the year, I spent much of 2021 working on a plan for the next chapter of my career.

Now I’m finally able to share some details of what I’ll be doing in 2022 and, hopefully, beyond.

Firstly, I’m excited to have accepted a new, full-time sports editor role with iTech Media in London, and I’ll be joining their team in the new year to help bring their sports products to market.

It’s a great opportunity to put my 20+ years of experience in sports media to good use with a company whose values truly reflect my own.

It’s also a great chance to go back to my old roots in sports betting & gaming and I can’t wait to get started.

My new role doesn’t mean I’m walking away from the MMA space, however. Far from it!

I will be continuing my MMA writing with BBC Sport as I head into my fifth year as their freelance MMA reporter/writer, and I’m in discussions with other outlets regarding additional potential freelance work in 2022.

The Brit Pack MMA Podcast will also continue, with the show set to make an exciting move to a video format early in the new year.

And, as I shared earlier this month, I have also joined the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) as their Young Journalists Mentor ahead of January’s IMMAF World Championships in Abu Dhabi.

After a pretty awful year, 2022 is already shaping up to be much, much better.
