“The Lion Killer” returns to action in “The Lion City” on November 9, as multi-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Garry Tonon makes the third appearance of his mixed martial arts career at ONE: HEART OF THE LION in Singapore.

Tonon made his ONE Championship debut back in March at ONE: IRON WILL in Bangkok when he stopped Richard Cominal via second-round TKO. The American then returned to action at ONE: REIGN OF KINGS in Manila in July with a third-round submission of Rahul Raju.

Now Tonon returns to action for his third ONE Championship bout when he faces South Korean lightweight Sung Jong Lee. Like Tonon, Lee has No-Gi Grappling titles to his name, having won NAGA No-Gi gold, but Tonon’s pedigree on the ground is significantly more impressive.

A former IBJJF World Champion, two-time IBJJF World No-Gi Champion and a four-time Eddie Bravo International Champion, Tonon’s credentials on the mat are of the highest calibre.

But now “The Lion Killer” has his sights set on mixed martial arts glory, and he will look to move one step further up ONE Championship’s lightweight ladder on November 9 in Singapore.

The event will be headlined by two world title fights, with ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion Xiong Jing Nan putting her title on the line against ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee in the main event.

The co-main event will unify the ONE Bantamweight World Title, as interim champion Kevin Belingon challenging reigning champion Bibiano Fernandes for the full title.

Also on the card, kickboxing superstar Giorgio Petrosyan faces off against Sorgraw Petchyindee Academy in ONE Super Series action, and former ONE Strawweight World Champion Alex Silva returns to face Pongsiri Mitsatit.

There’s also a pivotal clash of women’s strawweight contenders on the card, as Tiffany Teo faces eight-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Michelle Nicolini.
