The unfortunate injury withdrawal of American Alex Reyes from UFC London has left a vacancy on the preliminary card for a lightweight fighter to step in on short notice to take on German prospect Nasrat Haqparast at The O2 Arena on Saturday, 17 March.

With the event taking place in Europe, rather than the States, it makes sense that the UFC would consider locally-based fighters, who won’t need to make the expensive trip over to the UK and deal with the last-minute acclimatisation and timezone change.

Luckily for the UFC’s matchmakers, the UK is blessed with a host of talented fighters at lightweight and featherweight who could potentially step in and be competitive on short notice on their UFC debuts.

Here, in no particular order, are four potential candidates who could potentially step in and put on a show for the UK fans next weekend.
