Confirmed: Bellator NYC available to UK fans on pay-per-view

UK-based MMA fans CAN watch the landmark Bellator NYC event live from Madison Square Garden in New York, thanks to a last-minute YouTube solution.

The five-fight pay-per-view portion of the New York event will now be available for UK-based fans to watch via Bellator MMA’s official YouTube channel for a one-off pay-per-view price of £14.99.

It seemed the promotion experienced teething problems with the setup of the live stream, with a scheduled live stream, labelled Bellator 180 / NYC (hinting at both portions of the card being available and branded as specifically for ‘UK fans’) appearing on the Bellator MMA YouTube channel priced at £17.99.

That live stream was later taken down and replaced with a more generically-branded, Bellator NYC-specific, pay-per-view stream, this time priced at £39.95.

But now, after a couple of hours of tweaking and changing, the finalised setup has now been put live, with the scheduled live stream now appearing on the YouTube page, priced at £14.99. Official confirmation was given to The Daily Telegraph‘s Gareth A Davies in New York earlier this evening.

For that price you’ll get the five-fight pay-per-view card, including the main event grudge match between Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva, plus the heavyweight clash between former PRIDE heavyweight legend Fedor Emelianenko and ex-UFC star Matt Mitrione.

Also on the card is a pair of world title clashes, with the promotion’s 170lb and 155lb championships on the line.

First, lightweight champ Michael Chandler will look to make his second straight title defence when he takes on Brent Primus, then welterweight kingpin Douglas Lima will seek to turn back the challenge of newly-signed former UFC welterweight Lorenz Larkin.

The main card will be kicked off by one of the hottest prospects to enter the sport of MMA in many a year, as former collegiate wrestling standout Aaron Pico makes his pro MMA bow against 10-fight veteran Zach Freeman.

The live pay-per-view stream commences at 2:00am on Saturday night/Sunday morning via this link.

As reported a few days ago, there will be a three-hour Bellator broadcast on Spike UK (free to air) on Monday night at 10pm. This is likely to feature the best of the action from Bellator’s Madison Square Garden event.
